It has been a while since a news update has ben added. We apologize for this. We are working on an entirely new Russmiller.com experience and it has been taking our time from news and updates in this version.
Of course, the biggest news about Russ is that, Josephine Call Miller was born to Russ and Christine on May14th! She was 7lbs even and Christine and baby are doing just great. Russ couldn't be more proud of being a Dad! She took almost 7 years to get here , so she is a huge miracle and blessing for the Miller family.
July news has Russ in Europe and the UK. He will be doing the PMT 10th Anniversary "Drumfest" shows with Terry Bozzio, Steve White, John Tempesta, Thomas Lang and others. There are four shows Sheffield, Birmingham, North Hampton and Brentwood. He will also be doing a masterclass at England's top contemporary music school "ACM" on 7.18.08. There are also three addition clinics for Yamaha and Zildjian UK. Check out the calendar section for more information.
Also, at the end of the month 7.25-8.1.08, Russ will be back in Marktoberdorf, Germany for the Rhythms camp. "The Rhythms camp is really the best Drum and Percussion educational gathering in the world" says Russ. Nine "headlining" artists such as Steve Smith, Russ and Richie Gajate Garcia will be teaching classes all week and doing performances every night. The end of the week has a public concert that features duets, quartets and various ensembles of the featured artists. "Some of the ensemble pieces that we played at the Marktoberdorf events were inspirations for the "Rhythmic Conversations" on the "Arrival" album" explains Russ.
8.2.08 Russ will be visiting his good friends Luis Conte and Steve Gadd in Phoenix for the James Taylor show and then on the 4th leaving for Monterray, Mexico to perform in the Yamaha Groove-All Stars show. This is a 50th Anniversary show for Yamaha Mexico and features 15 of the top drummers in the world, including Russ, Gerry Brown, JR Robinson, Dave Weckl and many others.
The balance of August has Russ back finishing the "Arrival Behind The Glass" project for Hudson Music and a few other sessions in L.A.
